ALBURY PRESCHOOL EXTENSION IS OPENED

 Member for Albury, Justin Clancy, the Hon. Sarah Mitchell MLC, Shadow Minister for Education, and Albury Preschool Director Jo Barton welcome the official opening of the Albury Preschool expansion on Friday 5 September.

The previous NSW Coalition Government contributed $1.8 million under the Start Strong program for the upgrades, with additional funding being supported by AlburyCity, and co contribution from the Preschool.

Justin Clancy said the upgrades and expansion address the demand for preschools, giving more NSW children the best possible start in life

‘Providing families more opportunities for early education is essential for our growing community,’ Mr Clancy said. 

The Alma Street site has doubled the student capacity under the redevelopment, with further refurbishment still underway. 

Ms Mitchell said this is a really exciting day for the Albury Preschool community as their fantastic extension is officially opened.

‘Congratulations to everyone involved for their hard work and commitment to this important project,’ said Ms Mitchell

‘I am so proud to have been part of the Liberals and Nationals Government that funded this extension, it means more families in Albury can access a quality preschool program which benefits children, parents, and the whole community.’

Albury Preschool Director Jo Barton said the expansion will allow for an additional 150 children to access preschool education each week.

‘It has brought our building into the 21^st Century,’ said Ms Barton.

‘Our team now has access to purpose built classrooms, administration, planning and meeting spaces to collaborate and engage with families.’

Opened in the 1970s, Albury Preschool is a not for profit community preschool, providing education for children aged between three and six.
