Media Release: Albury Wodonga Health | Opportunity Shop Donations

The AWH Opportunity Shops and their volunteers have made an extraordinary contribution to our local health service over many years, raising funds that support patient care and improve hospital facilities.

As with any public institution, it is important that decisions about expenditure and governance are communicated clearly and transparently to maintain community confidence.

Whilst I note that at the time of the donation it was publicly stated that a portion of the proceeds would support amenity and improvements to shared patient spaces, I encourage Albury Wodonga Health to provide the community with clear information and reassurance.

I have also urged senior NSW Health leadership to maintain close engagement with our region as we seek the strongest possible health outcomes for Albury-Wodonga.

I sincerely thank the volunteers who give their time so generously to support our hospital.
