NEW FACILITIES FOR NSW PUBLIC SCHOOLS
Member for Albury Justin Clancy welcomed new funding announced today for public schools in the Albury Electorate.
“I’m delighted that 20 government schools will benefit, with NSW funding for projects totalling over $1.2 million,” said Mr Clancy.
Projects include shade structures to cover playgrounds, better staff amenities, covered walkways, upgraded kitchen areas, improved sports surfaces and more. Please see attached table.
“School communities have joined in, contributing a further $600,000 and for this I really thank the schools and their hard working P&Cs.”
Delivery of these projects will be undertaken in the next 18 months as part of the NSW Government’s economic stimulus package for NSW schools.
Minister for Education Sarah Mitchell said the projects where part of the NSW Government’s stimulus program and the State’s COVID-19 Recovery Plan.
“I’m pleased that we are continuing our record investment in school infrastructure. This program will benefit local communities and support hundreds of jobs, creating a safer and stronger regional NSW,” Ms Mitchell said.
“This program is part of the NSW Governments economic stimulus response to the pandemic, and will deliver educational benefits, community benefits and economic benefits as communities continue to recover.”
The NSW Government is investing $7 billion over the next four years, continuing its program to deliver more than 200 new and upgraded schools to support communities across NSW. This is the largest investment in public education infrastructure in the history of NSW.
