Improving access to dialysis for our community is an issue I’ve raised several times in Parliament this year and I tabled again a Motion this morning that:
Recognises the need for more dialysis points-of-care at Albury Wodonga Health.
Acknowledges that too many people are facing long waits and in some cases travelling hours — even to Melbourne just to get the treatment they need.
Notes the NSW Health Minister’s assurance that NSW will support additional renal care points for our residents.
Backs the ongoing efforts of Albury Wodonga Health to strengthen renal and dialysis services close to home.Last month I raised it directly with the NSW Health Minister, and I’m pleased he has since taken the matter to his Victorian counterpart.
I’m determined to keep pushing and working with both NSW and Victorian colleagues to make sure our community gets the dialysis services we need right here at home.
