2025-2026 NSW BUDGET

Member for Albury, Mr Justin Clancy today has described the Minn’s Government’s 2025–26 NSW Budget as a missed opportunity to support regional families, infrastructure and small businesses.

Mr Clancy said it is concerning that whilst we see this Government increase taxation revenue by 28.6% since coming in to power, there is very little support in return for families and small business.

‘Under the former Coalition Government, a focus on sound economic management allowed investment into services and infrastructure for the NSW people, including in regional areas with programs such as the Stronger Country Communities Fund.’

‘Once again this government dismissed regional areas and community needs in favour of citycentric ideology.’

Of particular concern is the lack of investment in civil infrastructure to help unlock vital housing.

‘Our Councils are calling for this investment, and I have been calling for this investment. Today’s budget clearly misses this mark.’

‘Families living in Thurgoona, or those seeking a new home in Howlong, Jindera or Walla, recognise that for us to build new houses we need investment in civil infrastructure, roads, water and sewers.’

While it can be noted that funding provisions were made for the new Thurgoona primary school and the Albury Wodonga Hospital, these were not new allocations.

‘This is a government that has prioritised drivers on driverless trains in Sydney over investment in regional NSW,’ said Mr Clancy.
